Amrita, one of our volunteers, has been offered a place to study medicine at Leicester. Amrita is a great asset to us and we are sure she will be very successful at Leicester. We wish her all the best with her studies and in the future.
Amrita has written about her experience volunteering at Waverley:
My name is Amrita, I'm 18 and I volunteer as a befriender at Waverley. Going to Waverley is by far my favourite part of the week - I always leave with a huge smile on my face! I thoroughly enjoy chatting to the older people over a cup of tea, hearing all the wonderful stories they've got to tell and finding out what they've been up to that week. For about an hour before they go we have a group activity such as a quiz or word game. This is always immense fun as each team gets extremely competitive and everyone invariably ends up having a good giggle. Waverley is a bright and friendly place to be, filled with such warm people. They often thank me for helping out, but it really ought to be me thanking them for the wonderful positive impact they have on me. Thank you Waverley!
