The Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire, Timothy Cox, presented Jill Blake, our Chair of Trustees, with the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service on Friday 12th July at the Day Centre. Present were many of the volunteers who have helped Waverley over the past 30 years together with staff, clients and local dignitaries.
This honour was awarded to Waverley for " service to older people to support independent living and help alleviate social isolation". The award is part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations and is one of only 117 presented across the UK.
A small group of trustees and other volunteers also attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace earlier this year.
